                                          Spring 2012 Performance - Sunday, May 20 at 7:00pm
                                              
                                                                  
The Spring 2012 concert on May 20, 2012 at 7:00pm will be the first concert for the new Director of the Hillyer Community Chorus,  Bill Rashleigh.    For the Spring concert, there will be two stunningly beautiful pieces:  Franz Schubert's Mass in G and Gabriel Fature's Cantique De Jean Racine.  Schubert wrote seven masses and the Hillyer Community Chorus has already performed four of them.  The Mass in G was his second mass.  It was written between his first and fifth, in less than a week's time from March 2-7, 1815.  The Cantique was one of Faure's earliest works.  He completed it when he was just nineteen years of age.  Originally scored for piano/organ, Faure orchestrated the piece with strings when it was first performed in August, 1815.

If you know of additional singers who you feel would enjoy making great music with the Hillyer Community Chorus, pleae invite them to attend the rehearsals.
