The Hillyer Community Chorus exists under the sponsorship of Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, where rehearsals are held, at 718 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. The Chorus was founded in 1970 for the purpose of presenting major choral works with orchestral accompaniment. It is among the oldest performing choral groups in the area.
Two concerts are presented with orchestra each year, in the spring and fall. Membership is open to everyone regardless of race, sex, age or religious affiliation. Chorus activities include performing challenging musical works not frequently heard.
Rehearsals are bi-weekly and neither auditions nor fees are required. Anyone interested in additional information about or in singing in the Chorus should contact director Paul B. Conway at (919) 787-9458.
